Stanley Gazemba

As a new publishing outlet, Kingoyo books is proud to have the pleasure of releasing our very first title by Kenyan author Stanley Gazemba.

Stanley is an acclaimed writer, having twice won the prestigious Jomo Kenyatta Prize, first in 2003 when he won the award for fiction and again in 2015 when received the prize in recognition of his work in children's fiction. He has also been shortlisted for the Kwani? Manuscript Prize and the Wilbur and Niso Smith Adventure Writing Prize.

A journalist by training, Stanley has published his work in The New York Times, Msanii magazine, and Sunday Nation. His previous work includes his three novels 'Forbidden Fruit', 'Khama', and 'Callused Hands'. He has published eight children's books to date and numerous short stories.

He currently lives in Kangemi in Nairobi where he enjoys indulging in a deep-seated passion for classical Congolese rumba.
